Welcome to Taina's Place

Dear Visitors to Taina's Place website. We wish to let you know that Taina Taufele sadly passed away in June 2012. "Taina's Place" is however continuing to be run by Tuiketei Taufalele and wife Tovika Taufalele and children. They are running "Taina's Place" in the same spirit and fashion that Taina herself ran it for so many years. She is greatly missed but will be remembered for her joy of life and her great generosity and love.

Welcome to Taina’s Place - clean, attractive, charming, great value accommodation located on the edge of the forest on ‘Eua Island in the Kingdom of Tonga. It is run by Tei anf wife Tovika, so you will be assured of finding true Tongan hospitality and a place to relax!

Activities

Begin your adventures from our doorstep. Borrow one of our excellent laminated maps to explore and hike independently. Check out the natural attractions at the Southern and Eastern ends of 'Eua island and explore local beaches.

Ask Tovika to organise guides for hiking, 4WD island tours, whale watching and swimming, horse riding, bicycle rental, cultural tours and to take you to the island’s weekend disco! Ask Tei to take you fishing and afterwards to local kava evenings.  Join the family at Sunday church and afterwards enjoy an umu (a feast cooked in an earth oven). Accommodation

Taina’s Place is set amongst beautifully maintained gardens with spacious lawns on the edge of the forest. You have the choice of single private rooms, twin and double rooms, shared dorm style accommodation or a cottage for families or small groups. Or you are welcome to camp too! All guests can use the kitchen for free or request scrumptious home cooked meals.

Taina's Place is owned by Tei Taufalele and run by wife Tovika and children.

Tei's family are guided by four core Tongan values, which are: (fe’apa’apa’aki) mutual respect; (feveitokai’aki) sharing, cooperating and fulfillment of mutual obligations; (lototoo) humility and generosity, and (tauhi vaha’a) loyalty and commitment.

The King awarded Taina a Gold Medal for her services to the hospitality industry.
